Mortimer Stubbs is a private investigator scraping by in Delta P, a deep-sea habitat where social status is written into your skin — or so everyone believes. When a young escort is found drowned in an airlock, her sister hires Stubbs to find answers. What starts as a murder investigation becomes a trail of covered-up worker deaths, a sabotage plot against the habitat's power supply, and a truth that could unravel the entire social order.
